Job Description

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Supervisor to oversee our standard and certified payroll operations. This role ensures accurate and compliant payroll processing while managing reporting requirements audits and payroll system optimizations.

Essential Duties:

Payroll Processing and Compliance:

  • Supervise and manage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. employees; process and audit multi-state payroll and ensure all accompanying tasks are accurately completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with state federal and industry-specific payroll regulations including certified payroll requirements for government contracts.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and report in compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage laws where applicable.
  • Monitor and continuously improve payroll processes simplifying where possible.

Certified Payroll Management

  • Ensure payroll data integrity for government contracts and special projects.
  • Conduct audits to verify prevailing wage compliance and work classifications.

System Management and Optimization

  • Manage payroll systems ensuring efficient data entry processing automation and accuracy.
  • Work with HR finance and IT teams to optimize payroll workflows.
  • Stay updated on payroll software enhancements and industry best practices.

Leadership and Employee Support

  • Supervise and coach payroll staff ensuring ongoing training and development.
  • Act as a point of contact for payroll inquiries discrepancies and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate across HR Finance and other relevant stakeholders to ensure optimization of payroll processes.

Core Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of payroll software tax regulations and prevailing wage laws especially for the state of California
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills

Education Certificates Licenses or Designations

  • FPC required and/or combination of experience and certification
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

Work Experience

  • 5 years payroll experience required
  • Experience with payroll integrations transformation and ADP software preferred

Specific Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems
  • LCP Tracker Knowledge
  • Prevailing Wage/Certified Payroll Knowledge
