Position: Campus Pastor

Team: Shakopee

Reports to: Executive Pastor of Campus Development

Status: FT 40 hours exempt


The Campus Pastor is the face of Hosanna at a campus. The pastor is a high-capacity leader who builds teams to ensure the success of the local campus. Success is defined as a growing campus unified around Hosannas Vision Mission Culture and Ministry focus. This pastor serves to influence the entire congregation and staff through leadership team building communication and relationships at the assigned campus. The Campus Pastor has three primary areas of investment: 1) Replicate Hosannas Culture 2) Recruit and develop leaders & lead campus staff in recruiting and developing leaders 3) Execute Hosannas Ministry Model.

Requirements
  • Lead as an extension of the Lead Pastor and Executive Team. Care about what they care about. Prioritize what they prioritize.
  • Replicate Hosannas Culture: Live and Lead the Hosanna Way Hosannas Teaching Statement Hosannas Mission and Vision. Hold staff and volunteers at the campus accountable to these cultural elements.
  • Recruit and Develop Leaders: Show intentionality about discipling people and developing leaders through invitation constructive points of challenge and walking people through Hosannas Leadership Pipeline.
  • Lead campus staff in recruiting and developing leaders and oversee staff in recruiting and developing leaders.
  • Execute Hosannas Ministry Model: Be a champion for and lead the implementation of Hosannas Ministry Model at the campus level. This includes:
    • Goal setting in relation to Hosannas Dashboard and Hosannas larger ministry goals.
    • Driving the Campus Team toward Hosannas Ministry Focus defined in Hosanna at a Glance.
  • Lead in the overall pastoral care for the campus including meetings with attendees hospital visits counseling and other pastoral acts: baptisms weddings funerals etc. (This also includes deploying other staff and chaplains to care for the church.)
  • Is accountable for all activity taking place on campus (Ministries: Family Adult Prayer/Care etc. and other activities hosted on the campus.)
  • Lead the campus by actively participating in a Community Group.
  • Responsible for the management development and leadership of staff and volunteers at the assigned campus.
  • Responsible for being Hosannas representative in the larger community by communicating Hosannas mission and vision to the community and the influencers/leaders in the community.
  • Ability to successfully communicate via preaching and teaching as assigned at campus including regularly scheduled hosting and pastoral oversight.
  • Maintain campus office hours creating visibility and connections and conduct pastoral oversight at the campus.
  • Work cohesively and collaboratively with other Hosanna leaders to ensure appropriate support for the campus and integration with other campuses.
  • Responsible for the development adherence and management of the assigned campus budget.
  • Development and coordination of campus Prayer Ministry Team.
  • As a Hosanna pastor represent and model the Teaching Statement be accountable for the Leadership Covenant and conduct pastoral acts as ministry requires.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education/Experience

  • Masters degree in Theology Biblical Studies - required
  • Pastoral experience - 7 years preferred
  • Leadership development experience-3 years required
  • Proven large church leadership - 5 years required

  • Ability to lead through others through strong leadership management and guidance at all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to live and engage in the target campus community.
  • Ability to mentor others (volunteers staff and guests) and guide them through supportive relationships.
  • Ability to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with group systems including small groups and multisite models.
  • Proven ability to lead staff and volunteers with vision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to plan supervise and delegate responsibilities as a leader of the campus. This includes direct and indirect management and leadership.
  • Ability to build inspiringly effective ministry teams and develop effective relationships within the team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and concepts to a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to effectively build congregational attendance through youth adult and weekend ministries.
  • Proven ability to multitask large initiatives.
  • Familiar and supportive of Hosannas three streams: Evangelical Sacramental & Charismatic

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Schedule will include working evenings weekends and extended hours as required by ministry needs. This includes Christmas Eve and Easter.
  • Extensive standing walking and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Repetitive keyboard and mouse movements requirements.
  • May require lifting up to 25 lbs.

A mature faith a personal relationship with Jesus Christ commitment to the Teaching Statement and ministries of Hosanna a signed Hosanna Leadership Covenant and submission to Biblical authority along with membership in the congregation and worship at Hosanna are requirements for all employees.
