The agency is looking for a skilled motivated and experienced professional to fill the role of Employee Relations Specialist. This position plays a key role in managing employee programs overseeing tasks and performance evaluations for non-managerial staff and helping to shape new initiatives policies and procedures aimed at improving employee satisfaction and retention. The Employee Relations Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Senior Labor Relations Advisor to align operations with established goals and ensure successful implementation. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
-Carry out the Department of Probation agency mission by contributing to a proactive supportive network that strives to advocate for all agency employees from line staff to executive level management. Provide information and resources conflict resolution assistance maintain cooperation and boost employee engagement.
-Liaise between Labor Relations and agency employees providing critical support and information / guidance / assistance related to conflict resolution agency policies and best practices; Facilitate communication between all agency personnel.
-Oversee the performance management process including Tasks & Standards probationary reviews and annual evaluations.
-Plan and support wellness and employee engagement activities. Makes recommendations regarding new employee relations programs and initiatives and assists senior management in executing such programs; Evaluate effectiveness of such programs by helping to develop operating procedures that collect employee feedback and measure employee satisfaction.
-Conduct research on HR operations as needed and providing guidance and follow-up support.
-Stay informed about current resources available to DOP employees. Disseminate up to date information on programs and resources to applicable employees.
-Plan coordinate and supervise activities workshops and events for employee enrichment; Elicit support and participation to promote employee engagement.
-Perform other relative duties as assigned.

Qualifications :
1. A masters degree from an accredited college in economics finance accounting business or public administration public health human resources management management science operations research organizational behavior industrial psychology statistics personnel administration labor relations psychology sociology human resources development political science urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration accounting economic or financial administration or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis operations research organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration recruitment position classification personnel relations labor relations employee benefits staff development employment program planning/administration labor market research economic planning social services program planning/evaluation or fiscal management or in a related area; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in 1 above.
associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in 1 above.
4. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and seven years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in 1 above.
5.A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2 3 or 4 above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience. However all candidates must have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
