ABOUT YOU

Youll be someone with a strong foundation in chemical or scientific disciplines ideally with experience in laboratory environments. You enjoy hands-on technical work collaborating with different departments and are confident working both independently and as part of a team. Youre safety-conscious methodical and flexible with a positive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Required skills and experience:

  • Degree or HNC in Chemical Sciences or a related scientific discipline
  • Experience in analytical or laboratory-based work
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • High attention to detail and strong data recording skills
  • Comfortable using MS Office and digital systems
  • Positive attitude and safety-first mindset
  • Highly adaptable organised and team-focused

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Field Chemist you will support our Field Services and laboratory teams in delivering high-quality sampling analysis and reporting across a range of client sites. This includes offshore mobilisations field-based testing and supporting onshore laboratory work. Youll receive in-depth training during the first three months embedded within one of our laboratory pillars and undergo dedicated field projects training to prepare for offshore work.

Key Activities:

  • Perform field-based sampling preservation and analytical work
  • Support the planning and execution of offshore field projects
  • Conduct standard analyses including oil in water testing density BS&W chloride analysis and more
  • Assist in the maintenance and checks of field equipment
  • Work with various Intertek teams to deliver collaborative offshore projects
  • Represent Intertek positively with clients and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations in the onshore laboratory during non-mobilisation periods
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation and reporting
  • Support ad-hoc operational requests and assist with special projects as needed
