Allocation Analyst
The Allocation Analyst (Analyst) is responsible for executing merchandise allocation strategies to ensure assortments by location reflect seasonal and regional nuances. This position analyzes sales and inventory data to maximize sales and optimize store performance. The Analyst partners with planning buying and supply chain teams to support the overall merchandise strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Distribute inventory to stores based on sales performance inventory levels and planned product strategies
Monitor stock levels across stores and adjust allocations to react to sales trends and regional performance
Analyze sales data inventory turnover and sell-through rates to identify opportunities and risks
Recommend location plan adjustments and allocation methods to drive sales and minimize markdowns
Work closely with Planners and Buyers to align allocation decisions with the overall merchandise and financial plans
Partner with supply chain and logistics teams to manage product flow and ensure timely delivery
Prepare weekly and monthly allocation reports including stock levels sales performance and recommendations
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Business Merchandising or a related field preferred
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and/or allocation systems
Understanding of key retail metrics including sales sell-through turns and weeks of supply
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have adequate vision speech hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e. bending stooping etc.)
