Clinical Support Specialist - Job Opportunity - Corporate

SUMMARY:
The Clinical Support Specialist completes orders by setting up CPAPs/BiPAP machines as indicated by physician prescriptions and sales orders. In addition the CSS maintains knowledge of equipment and services adhered to compliance requirements of all applicable rules and regulations and supports the continuum of care for patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Set pressures on respiratory equipment and completes patient educational paperwork prior to giving to shipping department.
2. Supports the continuum of care by creating and/or overseeing care plans communicating with the physician or other clinicians identifying and resolving patient care issues whenever possible.
3. Maintains current and thorough knowledge of DASCO equipment and services. May assist with quality control and maintenance of equipment.
4. Maintains compliance with HIPAA The Joint Commission State Respiratory Care Board State Pharmacy Board and all other applicable rules and regulations.
5. Maintains current on professional licensure or certification requirements including CEU compliance.
6. Other duties as assigned by the Respiratory Services Manager.


Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  2. Professional licensure or certification such as Certified Registered or Licensed Respiratory Therapist LPN or RN.
  3. Six months experience in a clinical services role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  1. Associates degree in related field.
  2. Six months experience in healthcare/medical/insurance/DME customer service role

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 1. Professional licensure as a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN/LVN).

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 1. Six months experience in healthcare/medical/insurance/DME customer service role

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: None.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position with the normal hours of work and days of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise negotiated. After hours on-call coverage may be available and is optional. Hybrid availability after training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no direct reports.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates primarily in a warehouse and professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is typically required to stand for extended amounts of time; frequently sits occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities used by this position include both close and distance vision color and peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The HCP is a tactile position requiring the frequent handling of equipment gauges and meters and some physical contact with patients during delivery of equipment.

TRAVEL: Less than 5% of travel time may be required for continuing education meetings.
