Job Description

Cust Supt Service Specialist (Service Technician)

Job Description:

Reporting to the SE Capability Lead and to their assigned manager the SE Engineer role delivers assigned SE tasks prioritising work delivering output and monitoring outcomes. Typical tasks will support aircraft programmes and will include common and peculiar-to-type Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Support and Test Equipment (S&TE) and tooling. Initially the role will undertake tasks across a range of air systems and management chains though future structures may require greater platform specialism. The role requires well-practiced technical and communication skills with the ability to interpret tasks distribute and sequence technical work adhere to delivery standards and maintaining schedule being judged as essential. The incumbent must be capable of exercising a degree of independent engineering judgement as well as analysing and interpreting technical information understanding safety quality and regulatory requirements and being able to relate SE to the supported air systems.

  • Able to understand interpret and brief technical information to achieve tasks within time cost and quality standards.
  • Able to understand and effectively employ Human Factors (HF) KSE-B.
  • Able to understand and effectively employ safety quality and regulatory KSE-B.
  • Able to effectively and collaboratively manage assigned resources and themselves to achieve tasks within time cost and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with the mechanisms by which GSE S&TE and tooling are selected authorised provided supported and replaced in the context of the air system(s) being supported.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing controlling closing and reporting on work tasks.
  • Managing and controlling assigned resources.
  • Producing and presenting reports and analysis.

Duties May Include:

  • Task execution control and reporting.
  • Inventory confirmation and verification.
  • Assisting Boeing Procurement Agents with the identification purchase and support of SE.

Experience:

  • Experience of technical or engineering team membership and/or leadership.
  • Experience of resource management (materiel financial etc.).
  • Authorisation management control and use of GSE S&TE and tooling in an aerospace environment either in a specialist SE role or as an end-user.

Minimum Essential Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for UK SC Security Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain the necessary clearance.
  • National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 3 qualification (e.g. advanced apprenticeship) in a Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) subject or equivalent career experience.
  • Professional registration as an Engineering Technician (Eng Tech) or evidence of actively working towards registration.
  • Commitment to Quality: Proven track record of driving first-time quality in engineering outputs.

This role is on-site position with flexible working hours.
