Boeing United Kingdom LimitedThe Boeing Company an experiencedOperational Suitability Specialist(Senior or Expert) level to join our team in Crawley United Kingdom in support of global certification and operational readiness of our aircraft products. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge ofEASA Operational Suitability Data (OSD)requirements andpractical experience with other worldwide aviation authorities including theFAAand additionalICAO-compliant regulators.
This role will work cross-functionally with engineering flight operations training human factors and regulatory compliance teams to develop and manage operational suitability deliverables that meet bothEASAandglobal regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in ensuring our products arecertifiable and operationally effectivefor operators worldwide.
Position Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate development ofOperational Suitability Data (OSD)deliverables perEASA Part 21 Subpart B Section 21.A.15 including: Flight Crew Data (FC) Cabin Crew Data (CC)Maintenance Staff Data (MS) Simulator Data (SIM)
Minimum Type-Specific Data (for pilot type rating)
Develop align and manageoperational suitability deliverables for other worldwide regulators
Act as subject matter expert (SME) on FAA and EASA OSD Operational Suitability and Operational Evaluationprocesses and other National Aviation Authority (NAA) requirements as applicable ( ANAC CAAC UK CAA GCAA etc.)
Develop compliance plans and project timelines for globaloperational suitability deliverables
Prepare and submitcompliance documentationto EASA FAA and other applicable NAAs including participating in regulator panels and operational evaluations
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering training technical publications human factors) and external stakeholders (operators training providers simulator manufacturers) to ensure operational suitability requirements are met
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree inAerospace EngineeringFlight OperationsHuman FactorsSystems Engineering or a combination of relevant skills and experience
Minimum5 years of experiencein operational suitability certification flight operations engineering or a closely related field
Proven expertise inEASA OSDrequirements andFAA operational evaluationprocesses (includingFlight Standardization Board(FSB) reports and related deliverables)
Familiarity withCS-25Part 21 Subpart BPart FCLPart 121/13514 CFR Part 60CS-FSTD(A) and other relevant regulations
Excellent project management interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Level 4 - Senior
Minimum7 years of experiencein operational suitability certification flight operations engineering or a closely related field.
Experience supportingCS-25aircraft or equivalent type certification programs in multiple regulatory jurisdictions.
Familiarity withUK CAATransport Canada (TCCA)ANAC BrazilCAAC ChinaGCAA UAE or other key international regulatory requirements.
Level 5 - Expert
Minimum10 years of experiencein operational suitability certification flight operations engineering or a closely related field.
Experience interacting directly withEASA PCM / OSD PanelFAA AED / FSB andother international regulators
Working knowledge ofICAO Doc 9625flight crew training and type rating requirementssimulator qualification standards andmaintenance training considerations.
Experience developingglobal operational suitability / operational evaluation datain support of type certification major STC or EIS programs Prior background inflight operations engineeringtraining program development orhuman factors engineeringis an asset Practical knowledge ofFAA TIA/TIA-ODSPSCPIssue Papers andEASA CRIprocesses
