Job Description

Our Workplace Safety and Violence Prevention (WSVP) team is expanding to include a new position: Workplace Safety and Violence Prevention Coordinator. Under the direction of the Program Director for WSVP the Coordinator will assist in developing and implementing the workplace safety program to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients staff and visitors. This role provides support and direction to stakeholders across the health care system.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise the delivery of support services by team members (BERT).
  • Provide frontline leadership functional and administrative supervision to team members (BERT).
  • Review and assess incident reports across multiple platforms to inform the provision of support services and allocation of resources.
  • Administer training programs related to Workplace Safety and Violence Prevention including Compliance and Qualification recertification support supplies ordering for MOAB and potential future training.
  • Collaborate with the Security Department to complete Safety Audits/Assessments of healthcare facilities and departments.
  • Collaborate with hospital department leadership to improve the delivery of support services.
  • Assist in the development of new WSVP policies and practices.
  • Participate in staff education on WSVP policies and practices.

Required:

  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of experience in safety behavioral health or violence prevention.
  • Experience in crisis de-escalation.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience administering training programs.
  • Experience conducting audits/assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.
