For over 25 years IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade IJMs Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence we are seeking Sr. Coordinator Executive Story Support and Story Operations to play a key role in sourcing high-impact story content to support IJMs CEOs Office and broader organizational storytelling needs.
The Sr. Coordinator Executive Story Support & Story Operations. Positioned at the intersection of strategic communications project management and content governance this role ensures that compelling policy-compliant stories are readily available for executive speeches presentations and internal or external communications.
As a trusted partner to the CEOs Office the Sr. Coordinator proactively identifies and curates stories that align with IJMs strategic messaging. They also enable global teams by supporting the management of the global story pipeline and the implementation and adoption of the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. This includes ensuring effective use of the DAM and recommending resonant stories to internal stakeholders.
This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Manager Global Content and Story Operations and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
Executive Story Sourcing & Support
Identify and curate high-impact stories to support CEO communications.
Demonstrate creativity and strong storytelling acumen to deliver accurate emotionally compelling and visually supported narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Create and support the development of PowerPoint decks that communicate stories effectively.
Maintain up-to-date reference folders of executive-approved stories.
Fulfill CEO Office story requests promptly and thoughtfully.
Ensure accessibility of assets in alignment with IJMs content policies release and consent documentation and accessibility standards.
Source stories for specific campaigns or media opportunities in collaboration with PR social media and executive teams.
Recommend relevant stories to IJM teams as needed that align with communications goals.
Story Operations & DAML Support
Support the organization and governance of IJMs DAM system.
Upload tag and curate story content and media as needed.
Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistent taxonomy and tagging practices.
Review and flag content opportunities and gaps as well as content that may not meet compliance and quality standards.
Partner with the Manager Global Content & Story Operations to optimize workflows and systems.
Curate content that supports storytelling aligned with IJMs strategic priorities.
Help drive DAM system adoption as a trusted and widely used tool across IJM.
Provide project management support (timelines tracking logistics) for story-related projects.
Collaboration & Communication
Coordinate between the CEOs Office Global Story and Regional Communications teams to ensure shared visibility of key stories and strategic themes.
Provide administrative and project support to the Manager Global Content & Story Operations.
Support and occasionally lead onboarding or training for staff accessing the DAM system.
Compliance and Accessibility
Uphold IJMs ethical storytelling standards in all executive-facing content.
Ensure all story content shared with or by the CEOs Office is culturally sensitive trauma-informed and properly consented. Consult with Regional Communications leaders to align with local contexts.
Bachelors Degree in Communications Journalism Marketing Public Relations Media Studies or related field.
At least 3-5 years of professional experience in strategic communications storytelling executive support communications or content marketing.
Demonstrated experience supporting senior leaders or executives with communications deliverables (e.g. speeches presentations internal/external communications).
Proven experience managing content or creative projects across teams or departments.
Familiarity with DAM systems and content governance preferred.
Strong project management skills including timeline planning stakeholder coordination and tracking deliverables with a focus on process improvement.
Strong organizational and content-curation abilities; comfortable updating metadata folders and content libraries.
Familiarity with content creation tools (Canva Lightroom).
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to content quality brand standards and compliance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an eye for narrative flow and emotional resonance.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles Creed.
A strong alignment with IJMs Christian values and a passion for justice mercy and freedom for the oppressed is essential for success in this role.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced evolving environment and able to manage competing priorities with grace and precision.
Collaborative and service-oriented mindset.
