St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational non-sectarian college preparatory day school serving more than 910 students in Kindergarten through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul Minnesota serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. The school draws students from St. Paul Minneapolis and throughout the eastern and western suburbs.

Salary: $261-$315/day

Description:
The primary focus of the Lower School Counselor is to provide direct social and emotional support to students in grades K through 5. Additional responsibilities include: teaching wellness classes; working collaboratively with parents teachers and administrators; providing parent education; and being a member of the Lower School Leadership Team.
Required skills:
Bachelors degree in psychology counseling social work or a related field- required
Graduate degree in psychology counseling social work or a related field- preferred
Professional certification in a mental-health related field- preferred
Patience creativity positive energy and a passion for working with young children
Experience working with a range of people from diverse backgrounds
Excellent organizational and (written and oral) communication skills
