Job Description
The Psychiatric Social Worker is a member of an interdisciplinary team who provides direct assessment diagnosis formulation treatment planning treatment intervention and psychoeducation to members and/or family members. Majority of role entails direct patient care. Familiar with all aspects of psychopathology and recognize the appropriate and timely clinical treatment intervention needed. May work with specific age group as is determined by training and certificate. Assists the department leadership on various department functions including but not limited to department performance improvement plan development of care management programs and process development of education plan and training of staff and performs clinical record audits. Works closely and in collaboration with Psychiatrist in developing programs related to mental health. Participates in departmental functions such as staff meetings staff in-services and committees as assigned.

Required Skills
- Demonstrate ability to provide timely and appropriate assessment diagnosis treatment planning and treatment intervention of patients.
- Ability to provide consultation and instruction to staff regarding their assessment intervention planning and evaluation of cases.
- Appropriate selection of treatment modality to members presenting problem
- Demonstrates expertise in a variety of treatment methodologies
- Appropriate differentiation of treatment interventions and management for mental health and addiction related diseases
- Knowledge with regulatory agency requirements legal policies and protocols.
- Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills.
- Independent performer and provides appropriate and timely documentation of clinical encounters in members charts
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Provides clinical consultation in an integrated health care environment regarding family interactions social determinants and community resources.
