SOFTWARE ENGINEERMcGovern Institute for Brain Research-Senseable Intelligence Group to engage with neuroscience research collaborators on NIH BRAIN Initiative projects to determine requirements iterate on architectural specifications and produce robust and scalable systems that meet identified needs in biological and artificial intelligence research. Responsibilities include programming deploying and maintaining software and infrastructure; producing clean scalable code; participating in constructive peer code review; researching and developing technical specifications for new projects and features; identifying user requirements; engaging in planning and architecture discussions; and writing thorough operational documentation; and debugging and testing code. The groups wide-ranging open science project portfolio includes an international data archive for neurophysiology; software toolkits for neuroimaging speech and language research; scalable workflow systems; platforms for voice and survey data collection; and a new knowledgebase platform. The position offers an opportunity to make significant contributions to various national and international projects.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in a relevant field;a minimum of two years of programming experience in Python and with machine learning toolkits; experience with software development practices including git-based version control and CI/CD; excellent project management analytical problem-solving organizational decision-making and written and verbal English communication skills; and ability to work effectively and productively in a highly dynamic hybrid environment across all levels with faculty staff students and other members of several consortia.PREFERRED: Masters degree in a relevant field.
