Summary:
The AU Abroad Office seeks a highly motivated candidate to serve as Office Assistant with a focus on covering front desk Graduate Assistant will report to the Administrative Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
Processing application materials for both outgoing and incoming study abroad students.
Supporting additional activities such as social events for incoming students study abroad alumni events and information sessions.
Establishing creative new ways to engage with students; and brainstorming ideas for AU Abroads social media platforms.
The Graduate Assistant will regularly greet visitors to the office at the front desk including prospective students faculty staff and other special visitors.
The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the AU Abroad Operations Team.
Processing foreign transcripts and updating course information in a database processing application materials and assisting with event planning and coordination.
Provide support for initial student contact via email phone and front desk and provide backup support for front desk operations.
Other administrative duties as assigned by the Administrative Coordinator.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-Time.
20 hours/week.
This position is for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.
Scheduled work hours are flexible within Monday through Thursday between 9:00am-5:00pm.
Cover during the busier lunchtime hour is requested/preferred.
This is an in-person position no hybrid work option.
Preference for candidates who can start between August 11 - 18 2025.
Salary Range:
$18 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
The incumbent must be an enrolled AU graduate student.
Strong attention to detail and reliability are essential for success.
Candidates should be creative able to work independently have experience organizing events for students be familiar with social media.
Experience previously working in a university office or managing social media platforms is a plus.
The right candidate will have excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience previously working in a university office or managing social media platforms is a plus.
Graduate student with international experience preferred and a demonstrated interest in international education.
