Remuneration:
$60000$80000 per annum (inclusive of superannuation) with the final pro-rata salary determined by the successful candidates qualifications experience and the number of days worked.

Role will be a hybrid of work from home and in the office located at The Drive in North Adelaide.
Organisations:
Volleyball Australia (VA) is the peak body for the administration of the sport of Volleyball in Australia. VAs Mission is to lead partner and support the growth in participation performance and profile of the sport in Australia. VA is the organisational body responsible for the delivery of the 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships.
The FIVB is the global sports body governing volleyball as one of the most widely played sports in the world and it represents 222 affiliated national federations world-wide.
Volleyball World is responsible for the hosting and delivery of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in conjunction with the local organiser with the competition and rules of the game governed by the FIVB.
The next FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships will take place in exclusively in the heart of Adelaide South Australia in November 2025. This event will showcase the pinnacle of beach volleyball talent featuring 192 women and men from around the globe while also leaving a legacy for the sport of volleyball and the community.
The South Australian Government is a major partner of the Adelaide BVWC.
Position Overview:
The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships Adelaide 2025 Organising Committee is seeking a highly motivated and organised Volunteer Manager to lead the planning recruitment training and management of the events volunteer workforce. The successful candidate will commence as soon as possible in a full-time position until December 2025 at the conclusion of post event reporting and surveying of the volunteer workforce.
With a daily requirement of over 300 volunteers this role is critical in ensuring a seamless volunteer experience and a well-supported event. The Volunteer Manager will report directly to the General Manager Sport & Event Delivery and work closely with other event stakeholders to deliver a memorable and professionally executed World Championships.
Successful Applicant will be required to adhere to Volleyball Australias policies and procedures including the National Integrity Framework and associated integrity policies and Code of Conduct.
Job Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment and Sourcing: The Volunteer Manager will develop and implement a robust recruitment strategy in consultation with the General Manager Sport & Event Delivery. This will include sourcing volunteers from a variety of avenues such as local volleyball schools in Adelaide other school groups Volunteering SA Sport SA corporate volunteer programmes universities and community organisations. A crucial aspect of this role is forging close ties with Volleyball SA to leverage their networks and expertise for event-specific recruitment.
Design and deliver training programs: to equip volunteers with the necessary skills to succeed in their roles. This includes the production of manuals presentations and online materials ensuring volunteers are fully prepared for the demands of the event. Another key focus will be the creation of a rostering and scheduling system that can efficiently manage over 300 volunteers per day. This system must be adaptable allowing for quick resolution of schedule changes absences and other day-to-day challenges.
Maintain high volunteer engagement and retention: The Volunteer Manager will implement strategies to encourage volunteers to return for multiple shifts or days thereby reducing the need for continuous recruitment. Fostering a welcoming and supportive environment ensuring volunteers receive appropriate breaks and refreshments and recognising their contributions through various initiatives will be fundamental to volunteer satisfaction.
Stakeholder and relationship management: The Volunteer Manager will collaborate with internal departments external partners and sponsors to match volunteer activity to event needs. They will liaise with the Community Engagement Working Group to help shape locally focused strategies for volunteer and community involvement and will represent the volunteer program at briefings presentations and stakeholder meetings.
Record-keeping and reporting: Maintain detailed databases of volunteer information tracking attendance performance and feedback. Regular updates will be provided to the General Manager Sport & Event Delivery highlighting progress addressing challenges and offering insights for further improvement. During the event itself the Volunteer Coordinator will oversee on-site volunteer operations handling check-ins troubleshooting issues and ensuring all volunteers are well-supported in their roles.
Compliance & Child Safeguarding: Ensure the volunteer group and event workforce are compliant with current child safeguarding and protection processes including compliance and verification of working with children checks.
Budget Management: Track and reconcile budget forecast and actual expenses within relevant budget line items. Submit invoices for payment.
General Administration: Provide administrative assistance in additional areas as required i.e. uniform management volunteer/workforce accreditations setup of rooms experience surveys etc.

The Adelaide-based position will commence from July 2025.
The Championship delivery phase will require extensive after hours and weekend work particularly throughout October and November 2025.
