Job Description

Operations Service Team (OST) Technicians are Amazons front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical operations and troubleshooting. They maintain operate troubleshoot and repair Data Center Operations Mission Critical Facilities which includes stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear UPSs PDUs wet cell batteries and associated systems CRAC centrifugal chillers cooling towers/water chemical system air handlers and associated systems pumps & motors.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. Upon application you will be asked qualifying questions that will be used only in relation to the US Government Security Clearance required for this role.

Key job responsibilities
- Operate and maintain mechanical electrical generator and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
- Troubleshoot facility equipment and rack-level events within internal SLAs
- Perform limited maintenance tasks to including filter changes HVAC PMs rack power installs rack PDU and rack ATS replacements
- Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
- Write procedures
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine inspection to include but not limited to temperatures voltages currents etc.
- Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
- Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies
- Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
- Manipulate small wires and objects

Perform the following tasks with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Walk job sites in uneven terrain
- Work in excessive climates
- Work at heights and from ladders
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 40 pounds or more
- Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working
- Push or pull heavy objects into position
- Work in noisy environments

A day in the life
The Operations Service Team handles break/fix maintenance of HVAC equipment and diesel generators and conducts routine preventative maintenance of various support systems. The Team runs a daytime schedule and a standard day consists of monitoring and addressing service tickets queues writing maintenance and repair procedures and conducting equipment maintenance.

- 4 years of maintenance and repair experience on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Experience operating electrical and mechanical systems in a mission critical environment (i.e. Data Center telecom etc.).
- Familiar with building management systems(BMS/EPMS).

- 4 years of Data Center Operations experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (excel word) and web-based operational tools.
- Familiar with BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending. Proficient with maintenance management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Solid leadership and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Proven self-starter. Ability to be self-sufficient and complete tasks with little direction.
- Operating engineering license(s) such as DC II DC III or equivalent. Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License. CFC license (Universal or minimum Type II). NFPA 70E Certification
