POSITION: Housing Case Manager Support Specialist (Washington County)

JOB CLASS/GRADE: Specialist 1/Class 8

WAGE: Starting at $48600 per year based on experience

FLSA; EEO; WC: Non-Exempt; Professional; 8864

LOCATIONS: GMEC office 4915 SW Griffith Drive Suite 216 Beaverton OR 97005 Hybrid schedule

SECTOR: Housing and Supportive Services

REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid Oregon drivers license verification of car Insurance and use of a vehicle during work hours. Must speak English and a second language is preferred.


Program Summary
IRCO Washington County Supportive Housing Services works to provide the highest quality of housing case management services to participants currently experiencing homelessness and housing instability and who are eligible for supportive housing funded through the Metro Supportive Housing Program in Washington County.


Position Summary
This position is both sites based and field based. Supportive Housing Case Managers will have a maximum of 20:1 ratio of participants enrolled in the program.


Essential Functions

  • Provide a participant centered approach and excellent customer service that is sensitive to the challenges of homelessness including medical and behavioral health issues that face them in their efforts to move into and maintain permanent supportive housing.
  • Employ a whatever it takes approach to assist participants in their transition from homelessness to permanent housing.
  • Assist households through the stages of the housing stabilization process including flexible services to meet the needs of the participants.
  • Working effectively with other supportive case managers establishing professional relationships and working as a team.
  • Establish a working professional relationship with participants.
  • Conduct assessments develop and implement individualized case management services plans in collaboration with the participant including needs goals steps timeframes and disposition of each goal as it is met or changes.


Secondary Functions

  • Ability to meet multiple including conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the availability of clients
  • Timely input of client service transactions and client expense documents.
Requirements

Education & Experience

Associate degree in human service or related field and minimum of 2 years of experience providing services related to a similar population.

Bachelors degree in human service or related field and minimum of 1 year of experience providing services related to similar populations.


Physical Mental & Environmental Requirements

Positions at this level require minimal physical effort such as light lifting carrying or movement etc. Physical capability involves the use of office equipment where some agility and hand eye coordination is needed.

There is a regular need for assessment of risk analysis of options and decisions without complete information.

There is a moderately low level of personal risk encountered. Job conditions are occasionally uncomfortable relative to noise temperature inside/outside work dirty conditions or interactions with angry or hostile people.

The work schedule occasionally fluctuates based on organization or customer needs. This fluctuation may occur with or without prior notice.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Positions at this level are not responsible for any supervisory functions or responsibilities but may occasionally be asked to orient and/or train new employees or volunteers.
