Position Overview:
As a Lead Applied Mathematician you will play a key role in developing advanced mathematical models algorithms and computational techniques to solve real-world engineering challenges in Flight Operations and Crew Management systems and Airline operations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to projects that drive innovation ensure operational excellence and create value for our customers.
As an Applied Mathematician at Boeing India you will contribute to developing innovative solutions by leveraging advanced mathematical techniques in areas like optimization computational modeling data science and artificial intelligence.
Position Responsibilities:
Mathematical Modeling and Analysis: Develop refine and implement mathematical models to analyze and predict the behavior of complex Crew Management systems and operational scenarios.
Algorithm Design and Optimization: Design efficient and scalable algorithms for solving advanced engineering problems such as optimization machine learning Airline and Crew Operations and real-time simulations.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:Apply statistical probabilistic and computational techniques to extract insights and solve problems using large datasets from testing production and operational environments.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with Product leaders engineers scientists and business analysts to translate technical challenges into mathematical frameworks and provide actionable solutions.
Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of emerging mathematics and computational technologies trends and methods and contribute to Boeings innovation agenda through research and thought leadership.
Validation and Testing: Develop and execute rigorous validation and testing protocols for mathematical models and algorithms ensuring accuracy reliability and robustness.
Basic Qualifications:
A Masters / Doctorate degree in Applied Mathematics Computational Science Engineering Physics Data Science or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of industry or academic experience applying advanced mathematical techniques to engineering or industrial problems.
Extensive knowledge of mathematical domains such as numerical analysis optimization statistical modeling and linear algebra.
Strong programming skills (e.g. Python MATLAB R C or similar) for algorithm implementation and computational modeling.
Proven ability to solve complex multidisciplinary problems using rigorous mathematical methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on aerospace aviation or defense-related projects.
Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) computational fluid dynamics (CFD) or control system algorithms.
Expertise in big data analysis predictive modeling or machine learning applications.
Experience with software development version control systems and simulation tools.
Ability to work in a collaborative fast-paced and dynamic environment adapting to new challenges and priorities effectively.
Experience or strong interest in the aviation industry particularly in areas such as Flight Planning Operations and Crew Management Systems is an added advantage.
Typical Education & Experience:
