As a Lung Clinical Nurse Specialist at Cromwell Hospital youll play a vital role in delivering expert patient-centred care to individuals diagnosed with lung cancer. Youll work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care pathways support patients and families and contribute to the ongoing development of our lung cancer services.

How youll help us make health happen

  • Provide specialist nursing care and support to inpatients and outpatients with a lung cancer diagnosis.
  • Act as a key worker and advocate for patients guiding them through their treatment journey and helping them make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to develop and evaluate personalised care plans.
  • Support thoracic surgery inpatients and contribute to the coordination of care across departments.
  • Lead on service development initiatives audits and quality improvement projects within the lung service.
  • Educate and mentor junior staff sharing your expertise in lung cancer care and supporting professional development.
  • Participate in lung MDT meetings and ensure accurate clinical documentation and communication.
  • Act as a clinical role model promoting best practice and upholding regulatory and governance standards.

Key Skills / Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse with a nursing degree.
  • Post-registration study in lung or oncology nursing.
  • Extensive experience in lung cancer care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Strong leadership communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in service development audit and education.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients with complex needs.
