As a Lung Clinical Nurse Specialist at Cromwell Hospital youll play a vital role in delivering expert patient-centred care to individuals diagnosed with lung cancer. Youll work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care pathways support patients and families and contribute to the ongoing development of our lung cancer services.

How youll help us make health happen
- Provide specialist nursing care and support to inpatients and outpatients with a lung cancer diagnosis.
- Act as a key worker and advocate for patients guiding them through their treatment journey and helping them make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to develop and evaluate personalised care plans.
- Support thoracic surgery inpatients and contribute to the coordination of care across departments.
- Lead on service development initiatives audits and quality improvement projects within the lung service.
- Educate and mentor junior staff sharing your expertise in lung cancer care and supporting professional development.
- Participate in lung MDT meetings and ensure accurate clinical documentation and communication.
- Act as a clinical role model promoting best practice and upholding regulatory and governance standards.
Key Skills / Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with a nursing degree.
- Post-registration study in lung or oncology nursing.
- Extensive experience in lung cancer care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Strong leadership communication and organisational skills.
- Experience in service development audit and education.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients with complex needs.
