This position is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial statements and to provide accounting support to Lodging properties. Customer satisfaction will be achieved by fulfilling the companys need to have CSM property management related accounting information organized processed reported and distributed in an accurate and timely manner. This position will also provide accounting support with department and company initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Statement Preparation Review and Analysis: Responsible for the monthly preparation and review of balance sheets and profit/loss accounts and accountable for their accuracy. Reconciles control accounts to subsidiary documentation. Through review and analysis accountable for creating general ledger adjusting journal entries at month end and publishes financial statements with budget variance and prior-year variance reports for internal use. Preparation of bi-weekly payroll information and company-wide payroll accruals. Preparation and analysis of company-wide allocations.
Financial Analysis/Forecasting/Budgeting: Preparation and reconciliation of year-end work papers for tax returns and audits. Participation in the forecasting/budgeting process including preparation of cash flow and balance sheet budgets. Will also work with corporate departments to complete and maintain operational forecasts/budgets. Additionally complete special ad hoc projects as assigned.
Business Support: Work closely with business partners to ensure compliance with accounting/finance-related SOPs and serve as a liaison from an accounting standpoint. Provide additional support for new users. Responsible for Business line accounting support analysis and reporting.
Compliance: Complies with identified standards for the organization and retention of month end/year end financial/accounting records maintained by the department.
Continuous Improvement: Applies knowledge of accounting to evaluate established controls and standardized procedures identifies opportunities for improvements and alternatives to improve efficiencies within department and assists in developing and making recommendation to management when appropriate.
Customer Service: Maintains relationships with Corporate Field and Accounting staff to address informational or reporting needs. Prepares accounting schedules routinely and as requested by internal management or as needed for external reporting requirements. Represents the company professionally in all internal and external interactions.
Self/Workload Management: Responsible and accountable for effective self/workload management. Ability to multi-task and see responsibilities to completion under strict deadlines. Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication skills. Promotes collaboration and positive professional work environment. Adheres and upholds all CSM Standard Operating Procedures.
