We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join Broad Heaths team. As a Sports Teaching Assistant. As an Apprentice you will gain many new skills to help you develop throughout the apprenticeship.

Working hours:Monday Friday (Shifts TBC) 37 hours per week

Location:

Apprenticeship Details -24 months expected duration to complete working towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant Sports Pathway Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).

As an apprentice you will become an essential part in the learning environment for classroom teachers and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive nurturing and safe environment. TAs play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils. Your work can have a significant impact on the childrens learning experiences helping them to succeed academically and personally.

As a Sports Teaching Assistant you will provide Teaching Assistant support within the schools Sports facility key Responsibilities include:

• Plan prepare and deliver high quality classroom support.
• Plan prepare and deliver high quality PE/Sport sessions.
• Deliver bespoke interventions e.g. 1:1 support SEN small group work.
• Deliver extra-curricular supervisory sessions (e.g. Before and After School Care) and sports clubs as required by the school.
• Work with a designated Sports Teacher to develop the appropriate skills knowledge and behaviours required to be a proficient Sports Teaching Assistant.
• Commit to the completion of the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard including the End Point Assessment (EPA) process.
• Commit to the completion of additional qualifications e.g. Safeguarding Prevent COVID-19 awareness E-Safety First Aid sports-specific qualifications via attendance at education days/online sessions and complete your coaching qualification

• Follow all organisations procedures and policies with specific reference to Safeguarding Children protocols.
• Undertake appropriate training related to your apprenticeship
• Ensure all tasks and records are maintained
• Work collaboratively with your apprenticeship mentor and training partner
• Manage own learning/study time effectively
• Enjoy the job and be willing to support any member of the team.

Essential skills:

• Achieved GCSE grade C/4 or above in English & Maths
• Interested in teaching and sports

Desired skills:

• Work experience or volunteering

Personal qualities:

• Enthusiastic and hold a keen interest in the importance of Sports and developing the education of the younger generation.
• Self-motivated reliable resourceful approachable and above all else have a great sense of humour. A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development is a must.
• A willingness to engage generally in the life of the school including those activities that take place outside the classroom.
