Job Description
IB French Teacher
Job Description:
The DePaul College Prep World Language Department seeks a collaborative energetic and positive educator for the role of an IB French teacher. This position is a part-time position for the 2025-2026 school year however it may evolve to a full-time position for the following academic year. While DePaul College Prep seeks teachers with IB experience the school will consider strong French teachers who are willing to be trained in IB. DePaul College Prep will pay for the training and will compensate teachers for the time needed to complete the online training. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:
- Completed Category 1 or higher of IB training;
- 3-5 years experience teaching in the IB Diploma Programme;
- Open-minded enthusiastic individual with a passion and appreciation for a range of cultures & languages;
- Eager and willing to collaborate with members of a dynamic world language team;
- Comfortable working in an evolving work environment;
- Familiar with the implementation of ACTFL standards;
- Familiar with the creation and implementation of ACTFL-based IPAs;
- Is a native speaker or is fluent in the target language;
- Competent or willing to learn to become competent in curriculum & assessment design;
- Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
- Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching.
Qualifications:
BA degree in French
Illinois PEL (teacher certification)
MA or MEd. is preferred
