Job Description

Job Title: High School Computer Technician

Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: IT Operations Manager

Pay Grade: Tech Pay 2

Dept. /School: Technology

Days: 227

Supervises:

Primary Purpose: High School Technicians will be in charge of the overall needs of the ECISD District High School Technology Needs. This includes all campus hardware software and inventory control.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited HS or GED Program
  • Degrees and certifications preferred not required.

Special Knowledge Skills:

  • Logical troubleshooting skills.
  • Leadership abilities and/or experience.
  • Ability to be self-sufficient and self-taught.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of computer systems software and networks - including but not limited to Microsoft operating systems Apple operating systems Chrome operating systems software and networks.
  • Knowledge of software and software install and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of computer peripherals including printer installation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Organizational skills in regards to inventory and item location.
  • Remote software management.
  • Chromebook Active Directory Knowledge

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in computer support or related field-preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide customer service and support.
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware replace parts setup and move systems and printers as required
  • Install and troubleshoot computer software and operating systems.
  • Imaging / OS deployment; Interactive whiteboard support.
  • Projectors support and routine maintenance.
  • Basic network troubleshooting and support
  • Work documentation and inventory records keeping.
  • Teamwork participation in projects as required.
  • Verbal and written communication with I.T. personnel and ECISD staff.
  • Identify and provide solutions based on staff input.
  • Inventory control of campus technology
  • Working directly with Campus Administration on day to day needs.
  • Support of Student one-to-one devices including signing out devices and upkeep of devices needing repair.
  • Support of testing environment and program updates and patches.
  • Campus Chrome Admin Console Support.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
