About The Role This role will be responsible for monitoring risks trending of leading/lagging metrics and developing reports and metrics that will be used to drive accountability and action throughout the site. The role is based in Niagara Falls NY his position will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing.
- Must have experience with both leadership and significant PSM safety experience. Chlorine is a definite plus.
- Must have PSM (process safety management) and PHA (process hazard analysis) experience
- Must have in-plant Specialty chemical experience
The Site EHS Manager is an experienced technical professional in the Health Safety and Environment management field with a history of success in implementing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and report EHS records to ensure adherence to corporate polices and/or regulatory requirements. This includes Process Safety Management processes.
Includes but not limited to OSHA 300 log incident records safety metrics training inspections permits etc.
- Monitor interpret and communicate summaries of standards and regulatory requirements to assure compliance and proactive management of risk.
- Lead implementation and management of site ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Establish safety and health mitigation goals and develops metrics dashboards and/or scorecards to track/communicate/drive progress.
- Analyze safety metrics and communicates results to leadership to drive action and accountability.
- Work with plant leaders and employees to implement effective solutions.
- Drive a standardized and harmonized approach across the plant to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Additional Duties Include
- Writes work orders as necessary.
- Provides technical information on facility safety and government regulations as they pertain to health and safety.
- Recommends policies and procedures ensuring all employees maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for knowledge and implementation of all upcoming Federal and State legislation relative to safety and ensures informing the various departments of upcoming changes.
- Attends and participates in the bi-weekly managers operations meeting and daily stand-up meetings.
What are the job requirements
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution required preferably in Safety Industrial or Environmental Engineering.
- 5 plus years of experience managing EHS in a manufacturing facility. In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations. OSHA and EPA are required NYS DEC DHS PSM PHA and DHA experience preferred. Knowledge and experience with relevant consensus standards such as NFPA and ANSI and systems such as ISO 14001.
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Exceptional organization skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong computer skills.
