Job Position: Plant Head Production & Operations
Department: Manufacturing & Operations Location: Ahmedabad Gujarat Reporting To: Managing Director / GM Operations Experience Required: 8 12 Years Industry: Engineering Fabrication Infrastructure Solutions Formwork & Scaffolding Systems Role Summary: The Plant Head is a senior leadership position responsible for managing the end-to-end operations of the manufacturing plant. The role focuses on driving production efficiency ensuring quality standards team performance cost control maintenance and timely execution of orders across product lines such as scaffolding formwork decking systems electrical boxes and custom industrial fabrications. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Production Planning
Oversee day-to-day operations of fabrication assembly coating and packaging units.
Develop and monitor weekly/monthly production schedules in alignment with delivery targets.
Forecast capacity material and workforce requirements.
2. Operational Excellence
Implement lean manufacturing practices (5S Kaizen TPM).
Reduce cycle time and increase machine uptime and resource utilization.
Drive digital tracking for productivity maintenance and downtime analysis.
3. Team Leadership
Lead a workforce of 50 100 across engineering production QC and maintenance.
Conduct performance reviews skill assessments and leadership development initiatives.
Motivate team to achieve high-performance culture and meet production KPIs.
4. Quality & Compliance Oversight
Work with QA/QC teams to uphold ISO 9001 standards and project-specific QA plans.
Ensure quality gates are defined at critical stages across welding bending punching assembly etc.
Address quality complaints via CAPA and RCA.
5. Machine & Facility Maintenance
Ensure scheduled preventive maintenance of CNC bending plasma cutting and welding machines.
Oversee calibration breakdown resolution and asset care.
Plan machinery upgrades and investments for future capacity.
6. Inventory & Cost Control
Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams for timely material availability.
Track material consumption vs. yield and minimize scrap generation.
Monitor budget utilization and implement cost reduction strategies.
7. Client Support & Inspections
Liaise with clients for factory visits stage-wise inspections and technical clarifications.
Support custom project execution with fast-track delivery requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience & Skills:
B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering
Certifications in Six Sigma Lean Industrial Safety preferred
8 12 years in a similar role ideally in fabrication scaffolding or heavy engineering units
Strong leadership & operations management
Problem-solving & strategic thinking
ERP and production planning systems
In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication processes
Excellent communication with technical and non-technical teams
