This College Partnerships Advisor (CTE) delivers high quality student centered culturally responsive advising and planning to students in College Partnerships programs regarding admissions assessment registration financial aid tuition and general college information. This particular position works with an emphasis on Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways including but not limited to Trade and Technical Education STEM Health Science Business and Wellness and Service to increase enrollment and retention efforts and work with both internal and external stakeholders to increase equity inclusion and access opportunities for all students with emphasis on underrepresented and non-traditional populations. This position directly supports students efforts to successfully transition to the college and reach their academic goals providing advising to applicants and students who need additional support to navigate complex financial aid situations admission assessment or registration issues. This position provides responsible borrowing and financial literacy advising which align with the College student retention and engagement efforts. All employees of Saint Paul College are responsible for promoting a culture that supports diversity and inclusion in all forms as well as providing excellent customer service continuously to all internal and external contacts. Some travel is required and flexible nights and weekends when applicable.
Job Duties:
Advises students by providing in-depth information and expertise on all aspects policies procedures and principles of the admissions assessment records registration and payment processes.
Advise applicants and students by providing in-depth information and expertise on all aspects policies procedures and principles of the financial aid process.
Collaborate with College Partnerships stakeholders.
Act as the first point of contact for escalated issues related to financial aid admission records registration and payment processing for dual enrollment students.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner including Early College Partnership Support and other special projects.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $25.29 - $36.71 hourly.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and full-time professional experience working in Higher Education.
Knowledge of college admission and registration processes and program offerings and/or knowledge of federal financial aid processes and guidelines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills sufficient to participate in discussions and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Experience working with students from diverse intercultural and traditionally underserved backgrounds and with varied needs.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of private information according to federal regulations (FERPA Data Privacy Act Minnesota State System and college policies and procedures).
Ability to establish cooperative working relationships work independently and take initiative to problem solve.
Knowledge and clear understanding of customer service skills.
Demonstrated inter-cultural competency.
Ability to track data in an organized and accurate manner and report that data.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite Software Word Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three years of professional experience in higher education.
Masters Degree in Student Affairs Administration or related field.
Experience assessing student needs and coordinating services in an effort to retain students.
Knowledge of the Minnesota State System and college policies as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
Working knowledge of current student information system (Integrated Student Records System) ImageNow Minnesota State System related Web Communications and degree audit systems (DARS).
Knowledge of testing and assessment functions policies procedures and processes.
Bilingual.
