Harco Fittings LLC founded in 1966 in Lynchburg Virginia is a producer of gasketed joint injection-molded PVC and push-on gasketed joint ductile Harco locations span across seven states in the US. Are you looking for an opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and growing team

We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Fabrication Technician. This role is based in Janesville WI and reports to the Fabrication Supervisor.

Job Summary

We are seeking an upbeat individual who will be responsible for supporting our Fabrication Facility. The successful candidate will perform fabrication assembly and packaging operations.



Requirements

    • Safely fabricate fittings to customer specifications using customized fabricatingequipment such as saws presses butt fusion machines hand tools power tools adhesives and fixtures
    • Obtain components from stock/production.
    • Set-up equipment to match product requirements.
    • Visually inspect measure and approve materials before and after process steps to ensure quality compliance.
    • Prepare parts for shipping by placing them in boxes or on pallets.
    • Correctly label all parts and boxes as needed.
    • Completing and maintaining reports for managers as required which may include production reports and scrap reports
    • Apply PVC primer and adhesive to assemble fabricated fittings.
    • Collaborate with team members supervisors and other departments on fulfilling work orders and production sheets
    • Read and understand imperial measurements
    • Responsibly use and care for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to all safety policies and procedures
    • Must be eager to learn self-motivated to work independently as well as have good written and verbal communication skills
    • Apply 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
    • Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates the ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to read write and comprehend instructions work orders safety documents and training manuals.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Tools & Equipment

  • Material handling equipment once trained
  • Basic hand tools
  • Power Tools (Hand drills grinders and jig saws)
  • Safety knives
  • Fixtures
  • Band saws
  • Hydraulic presses
  • Inspection tools and gauges:
    • Digital levels
    • Measuring tape

Work Environment

  • Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking standing for long periods bending stooping as well as lifting and pushing heavy objects up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Regular work in a fluctuating temperature environment (indoor & outdoor).
  • Working on raised surfaces (ladders machines work platforms).
  • Exposure to grease dirt and industrial chemicals (primers adhesives 2-part epoxies acetone glycol antifreeze).
  • The use of standard personal protective equipment including the following: safety glasses and splash shield gloves and apron safety shoes harness Hi-Vis clothing.
