Job Description

Fahrenheit Advisors has been retained in the search for a Investment Relations & Operations Associate/Manager for our growth equity client in the Richmond VA area.

Position Summary

Blue Heron is seeking a dynamic resourceful professional to join our team as an Investor Relations and Operations Associate / Manager. This individual will play a critical part in supporting fundraising limited partner (LP) communications marketing initiatives researching and identifying executive talent and other strategic projects. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial detail-oriented intellectually curious and has strong communication skills. The firm is looking for someone who is eager to contribute across projects big and small in a fast-paced collaborative environment. This is a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to the private equity landscape while working closely with senior leadership of a growing firm.

Key Responsibilities

LP Relations & Fundraising Support

  • Assist in the development formatting and distribution of investor-facing materials including pitch decks fund tear sheets Due Diligence Questionnaires and quarterly reports.
  • Coordinate LP communications.
  • Manage and maintain the CRM database with investor contacts fundraising progress and follow-up activity.
  • Support scheduling logistics and preparation for LP meetings roadshows and diligence sessions.

Marketing & Communications

  • Ensure consistency of firm messaging and branding across all touchpoints.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors (PR firm etc.) as needed including creation and distribution of newsletters investor updates portfolio highlights and website content.
  • Monitor industry news and peer activity to inform marketing and communication strategies.

Candidate Research & Talent Mapping

  • Conduct targeted research to identify business executives who align with Blue Herons investment thesis or can support portfolio company growth.
  • Develop talent maps executive lists and research briefs for investment due diligence portfolio company recruiting and fund marketing.
  • Partner with team members to refine search criteria and uncover new networks and candidate pipelines.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead planning and logistics for firm-hosted events including annual meetings LP dinners Executive roundtables and other networking events.
  • Manage vendor coordination invitations RSVP tracking and on-site execution.
  • Create memorable experiences that reflect Blue Herons brand and culture.

Special Projects & Strategic Support

  • Support ad hoc research projects related to firm growth fundraising or portfolio support (e.g. identifying hospital systems and strategic investors for potential partnership).
  • Work cross-functionally to scope and manage project timelines deliverables and progress.

Qualifications

  • 37 years of professional experience in investor relations investment consulting manager research operations and/or project management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience conducting business research (e.g. LinkedIn Preqin PitchBook Google) and synthesizing findings clearly.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and willingness to pitch in across a wide range of tasks.
  • Familiarity with private equity venture capital and institutional asset management.
  • Comfort with tools such as Microsoft Office Suite LinkedIn Recruiter etc.
