An exciting opportunity for a Carer Support Officer or Counsellor to join our dynamic Carers Gateway Team in Mount Isa on a full-time permanent basis. Youll provide Carer Gateway services within an outreach framework offering face-to-face and telehealth support in collaboration with a range of other allied health professionals.
Carer Support Officer
Youll facilitate Carer Coaching and In-person Peer Support complete referrals and service reviews and identify when additional services are needed referring carers to the appropriate services when necessary. You will work with a diverse range of clients set your own schedule and have the chance to see the real difference your work makes as you enable rural communities to live and receive high-quality holistic care.
This role will also identify and facilitate opportunities that promote the inclusion of and build the capacity of people and community groups to access Carer Gateway services and achieve healthy strong and connected communities.
Counsellor
In addition to the foundations of the Carer Support Officer role yourresponsibility will be todeliver high-quality mental health assessment treatment and intervention services as well as psycho-social supports to clients of the Carers Gateway.
As aCounsellorwith NWRH you will have the opportunity to expand your skillset whilst working with a broad range of clients experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns. This is also agreat opportunity for Social Workers interested in obtaining their Mental Health Accreditation.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for the Carer Support Officer you must hold aCertificate IV in Community Developmentor relevant community sector experience. To be considered for the Counsellor role you must have a current registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
You must also hold a current QLDBlue and NDIS Worker Screeningor be eligible to obtain.
In addition you will need a current unrestricted C class Australian Drivers License and the right to live and work in Australia.
