Weekly schedule: Monday to Friday Hours/Day: 8am to 4pm

Position summary
The SES Post-Secondary Coordinator position will work as part of a team to support Stzuminus Adult students. The SES Post-Secondary Outreach Worker will provide support through ISC post-secondary funding for post-secondary students and Education Service Delivery funding for Stzuminus members attending public K-12 schools. They track administer and report on the Stzuminus post-secondary funding and provide support for Stzuminus students to promote realization of their education goals.
The position
- Visit students families and post-secondary institutions and public K-12 schools on a regular basis to provide appropriate services for Stzuminus students and families
- Act as a connector with students families and school-based staff to solve problems including social and cultural issues collaboratively and in a professional manner
- Develop track and forecast budgets for ISC post-secondary funding and education service delivery funding and maintain student files
- Complete Post-Secondary Education reports to Indigenous Services Canada accurately and on time
- Responsible for understanding and implementing Stzuminus post-secondary policy and National Guidelines
- Prepare documentation necessary for clear delivery of Post-Secondary Student Support Program funding including student funding applications letters of approval and sponsorship forms
- Prepare financial forms and transactions for approval as per budgets
- Complete nominal roll reports accurately and on time using ISC Services Portal Education Information Systems
- Facilitate Stzuminus First Nation graduation celebrations annually
- Responsible for understanding and implementing Stzuminus post-secondary policy and National Guidelines

- Work closely with Stzuminus Education staff
- Attend staff meetings professional development community events etc. as required
- Adhere to SES policies & procedures
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor or designates

- Trustworthy reputation within Stzuminus First Nation community
- Excellent organizational skills computer skills in word-processing budget tracking ability to maintain records and complete detailed reports accurately
- Comfortable in school environments and confident managing self and others in dynamic and challenging situations
- Ability to recognize the signs symptoms and impacts of trauma and apply trauma sensitive practices and communication to facilitate healing-centered relationship
- Proven ability to maintain a high standard of professional moral and ethics in relationships with children parents staff and community
- Dedication to incorporating Coast Salish culture Hulquminum language and Stzuminus ways of knowing in your personal and professional learning journey
- Certificate or Diploma from Post-secondary Institute and/or personal experience in fields of education Child and Youth Worker Social Work Early Childhood Education; a Bachelors Degree will be consider an asset.
- Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License with satisfactory current drivers abstract and access to a reliable vehicle required
- Confirmation and maintenance of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for working with Vulnerable Persons
