Air Products and Chemicals Inc. (NYSE:APD) a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases has an opening for a Diesel Mechanic / Technician at its Middletown OH facility.

The Middletown facility produces and distributes Liquid Nitrogen Oxygen and Argon as well as bulk Helium and Hydrogen throughout the Midwest. You will report to the Middletown Terminal Supervisor and will be responsible for the maintenance of Company owned tractors and trailers.

We are seeking an energetic highly motivated well-organized self-starter with a strong commitment to Safety. We are looking for a strong teammate with the ability to work well with fellow mechanics drivers and operations personnel.

As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician your benefits include but are not limited to:

    As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician the primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on the Companys fleet equipment which includes Class A tractors Class B straight trucks cryogenic tankers and tube trailers.
  • Document/record work performed electronically on computer-based maintenance system
  • Maintain personal safety and training requirements using electronic training system
  • Perform road repairs when necessary
  • Perform electrical/electronic repairs on tractors and trailers
  • Participation in the Companys Safety Training Environmental and Improvement programs

Additional job responsibilities (with on-the-job training provided) will include:

  • Perform cryogenic maintenance to include repair/replacing valves piping pumps etc.
  • Perform tube trailer maintenance to include repair/replacing valves fittings etc.
  • Calibrate pump discharge meters
  • Spot/move trailers as needed
  • Building and grounds maintenance as needed
  • General housekeeping
  • Help manage Fleet inventories including parts tires lubricants and fuels

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/equivalent
  • 3-5 years strong diesel vehicle repair experience
  • Strong mechanical background with computer experience/skills
  • Solid work history
  • Ability to drive Class A and Class B tractors
  • Welding knowledge and experience preferred
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills on 12 volt DC circuits
  • Diesel engine troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Trade school graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Class A CDL license preferred but not required
