Job Summary
The General Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs for mechanical equipment at CMIs customer site in Washington DC.
Key Job Functions
- Repair or replace parts as needed to maintain buildings equipment and furnishings in all aspects of facility maintenance. This includes being able to work with various types of materials: woods plastics paints glass sheet metals PVC products greases oils etc.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks to include but not limited to removing relocating and/or installing building furnishings (i.e. pictures towel dispensers shelving etc.) in order to complete task.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on building equipment/furnishings in accordance with the manufacturers operation manuals.
- Determine required materials and supplies relating to preventive maintenance repair orders and projects to complete each task.
- Perform duties from elevated equipment to include ladders (step or extension) telescoping or scissor lifts scaffolding and platforms.
- Move and arrange heavy office furniture equipment or supplies as needed.
- Assist in any other related functions under the direction of immediate supervisor
Qualifications :
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- Must be able to work with little to no direct supervision
- Have knowledge of and utilize hand tools small power tools and man lift equipment to complete task.
- Properly maintain clean and care for tools and equipment as well as maintaining a clean work area.
