Were seeking a Master Scheduler who thrives on collaboration and operational excellence. In this role youll work closely with the Machine Shop Manager Planning team and CNC Programmers to synchronize production schedules with customer demand machine capacity and workflow efficiency. You will be aligning daily and long-term schedules to meet production goals. Balancing workloads and optimizing machine utilization also proactively identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts while supporting continuous improvement in planning and execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and Manage Schedules: Create and maintain detailed production schedules across all machine shop operations ensuring efficient use of CNC and manual machines to meet on-time delivery (OTD) goals.
  • Drive On-Time Delivery: Track OTD performance identify bottlenecks and take proactive steps to resolve delays.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Coordinate closely with the Machine Shop Manager Planning team and CNC Programmers to align schedules with priorities materials and programming needs.
  • Plan Capacity Effectively: Analyze machine and labor capacity to balance workloads prioritize jobs and adapt to urgent or changing demands.
  • Optimize Scheduling: Continuously refine scheduling processes to boost throughput reduce downtime and shorten lead times.
  • Resolve Conflicts: Address scheduling issues related to equipment tooling or staffing in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Maintain Accurate Data: Ensure real-time updates and accuracy in ERP/MRP systems to reflect current production plans.
  • Communicate Clearly: Keep stakeholders informed of schedule changes production status and potential risks.
  • Support Continuous Improvement: Contribute to lean initiatives and process enhancements to improve scheduling and shop floor productivity.
  • Report Performance: Generate reports on production metrics OTD and schedule adherence to support data-driven decisions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Education: Bachelors in Operations Management Industrial Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing scheduling experience accepted.
  2. Experience: 35 years in production scheduling ideally in CNC or machine shop environments.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g. Epicor Oracle) and scheduling tools; strong grasp of CNC machining and workflows.
  4. Collaboration: Skilled in cross-functional teamwork with shop managers planners and programmers.
  5. Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities for schedule optimization.
  6. Communication: Clear and effective verbal and written communication.
  7. Detail-Oriented: High accuracy in managing complex schedules.
  8. Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced settings with shifting priorities

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily based in an office setting adjacent to the machine shop with frequent interaction on the shop the manufacturing area employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times loud.
