We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and basic functionality of Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs) at the airport. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe sanitary and efficient environment for passengers and airline personnel. The ideal candidate will have basic maintenance skills and the ability to follow cleaning protocols in high-traffic safety-sensitive areas.
YOUR IMPACT
Cleaning Duties (Primary Focus 70%)
Clean and disinfect interior and exterior surfaces of passenger boarding bridges (walls floors ceilings control panels door handles windows etc.).
Remove trash and debris from the bridge area and empty designated waste containers.
Perform spot cleaning and deep cleaning as required including in response to biohazard incidents.
Maintain cleanliness of adjacent areas such as jet bridge tunnels vestibules and service platforms.
Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and stored properly; report low inventory.
General Maintenance Support (30%)
Perform basic inspections of bridges for signs of wear loose parts or safety concerns.
Replace or tighten minor components such as screws floor plates or non-electrical fixtures.
Assist maintenance personnel during repairs by providing tools communicating issues or helping with access.
Report mechanical electrical or structural issues beyond scope to the Maintenance Technician or Supervisor.
Maintain logs of cleaning activities and minor maintenance performed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred; Applicants without a high school diploma or GED may be considered; however lack of formal education may limit eligibility for future promotional opportunities.
Valid Drivers License
1 year of custodial or janitorial experience required; experience in an airport industrial or transportation setting preferred.
Familiarity with cleaning supplies and safe chemical usage (e.g. SDS knowledge).
Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical systems.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Must be able to pass airport security background check and obtain necessary access badges.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand walk bend stoop and climb for extended periods.
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Manual dexterity required to use cleaning tools and minor maintenance equipment.
Must be able to work varied shifts including early mornings nights weekends and holidays depending on airport operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed on airport ramps and inside passenger boarding bridges.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat cold wind and rain.
Frequent work in confined spaces and occasionally at heights.
Fast-paced environment with strict safety and cleanliness standards.
May be exposed to fumes cleaning agents and occasional biohazards.
