Position: Senior Salon Hairstylist / Hairdresser cum Makeup Artist With Management Skills
Salary: PGK 3500 PGK 4500/month
Working hours: 8 hours
Working location: Port Moresby Papua New Guinea
Job Summary:
The Senior Salon Hairstylist / Hairdresser cum Makeup Artist with Management Skills is a seasoned professional responsible not only for providing high-quality hairstyling and makeup services but also for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the salon. This role demands expertise in haircutting styling coloring and makeup artistry combined with leadership abilities to manage teams drive service excellence and support business growth through marketing and client engagement. The ideal candidate is creative experienced and capable of balancing hands-on service with operational supervision and training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform expert-level hairstyling haircuts (for both men and women) color application correction and toning tailored to various hair types and client preferences.
- Deliver professional makeup services for events bridal editorial and day-to-day looks using recognized cosmetic brands and tools.
- Provide consultations to clients and recommend styles and products that suit their features and needs.
- Manage salon workflow supervise staff performance and ensure consistent service quality and cleanliness.
- Train junior stylists and beauty technicians; conduct in-house workshops and seminars.
- Stay updated with current beauty trends tools and product innovations.
- Assist with inventory management of salon supplies tools and cosmetics.
- Handle customer complaints and ensure a pleasant and personalized client experience.
- Support marketing and promotional campaigns to increase salon visibility and client retention.
- Monitor daily sales provide input on pricing strategies and help improve overall profitability.
Requirements:
- At least with Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate
- At least 5 years solid work experience in a well-known reputable and established salon/makeup/beauty brands industry like - LOreal Group Avon Maybelline Revlon MAC Cober Girl etc.
Qualifications:
- With TESDA Certifications (related to salon/beauty/makeup)
- Specialized certification is a great advantage for Hair Stylist and Hair Cutting both male & female (strictly possess the skills in styling & cutting both male & female hair)
- Expert/professional hairstylist a color technician (color toning/color correction) for different types of hair/races
- Expert in makeup application wigs and other tools and equipment for beautification purposes
- Working quickly and accurately in time-pressured conditions
- Demonstrates technical marketing skills and product knowledge of different makeup/cosmetics brands contents and different applications
- Ability to train and conduct seminar and lectures (trainers skills)
- Promotional and marketing backgrounds are added advantage
- Outspoken honest and responsible
- At least 5 or more years of experience from a reputable salon/or make-up service industry
- Seek out new marketing and branding opportunities for the companys growth
