Job Description
An Irrigation Technician is responsible for the operation all the irrigation and drainage system equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
What will I be doing
As an Irrigation Technician you are responsible for ensuring that water applications are operating according to schedules and that the applications of water are providing the coverage to maintain first class conditions with the turf. Monitor and repair any drainage systems for proper operations. Monitor the health and conditions of the turf and report any irregularities no matter how insignificant it is perceived directly to the Superintendent. Work Schedule must be flexible to include weekends and holidays.
- Receives work direction on a daily basis from the Superintendent and/or Assistant
- Examines vehicle and all supplies for drainage or irrigation and ensures it is proper mechanical order prior to use and monitors the performance throughout the operation
- Performs the specific adjustments to irrigation or water pumps and reports to Superintendent
- Removes any debris or garbage that may impair operation of equipment enjoyment by golfer or visually detracts from presentation of golf course
- Repairs turf damage caused by the maintenance of the golf course or the golfers using the facility
- Ensures if operation of equipment or repair projects minimizes interferences with the enjoyment of the golfers game
- Assists in regularly scheduled work activities not limited to trimming pruning clearing moving of tournament required signage or equipment and watering of golf course
- Supports fellow team members in the achievement of first class conditions

- Prior golf course maintenance experience with irrigation is preferred or worked in landscape maintenance involved with irrigation in a resort environment
