Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hillingdon to assist with the appointment of a Child Protection Advisor on a 3-month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 27.85 - 39.00 per hour

Summary:

The Child Protection Advisor (CPA) plays a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at risk of significant harm. The CPA will chair multi-agency Child Protection Conferences oversee the development and implementation of child protection plans and ensure that all statutory requirements are met. This role provides independent oversight and critical challenge to professionals to ensure high-quality practice and timely decision-making.

The postholder will work within the Safeguarding Partnership and Quality Assurance service and will collaborate closely with social workers multi-agency professionals children and families to promote the voice of the child and ensure that services are effective child-focused and outcome-driven.

Responsibilities:

  • Chair Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences in line with statutory requirements and local procedures.
  • Provide independent oversight of child protection planning and challenge poor practice drift or delay in decision-making.
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of multi-agency child protection plans to ensure they are proportionate achievable and outcome-focused.
  • Promote and ensure the inclusion of the childs voice in all aspects of planning and decision-making.
  • Provide guidance to social workers and partner agencies on complex safeguarding cases and risk management.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Registration with Social Work England.

Requirements:

  • Evidence of continued professional development in safeguarding and care planning.
  • Substantial experience in child protection and safeguarding roles.
  • Proven experience of chairing complex multi-agency meetings (e.g. Child Protection Conferences).
  • Sound knowledge of legislation statutory guidance and best practices in safeguarding children.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
