About the Program
is a 20 bed admitted (bed substitution) program for patients in a home-based setting. Inpatient Rehab unit is 20 bed unit. The service will provide interdisciplinary 7 day a week rehabilitation services from a team including a Rehab Physician Nursing Allied Health and Pharmacy. Telephone after hours support will be provided as required by the St. Georges Hospital after Hours Coordinator.
About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for an Allied Health Assistant to join the and Inpatient Rehab team on a casual basis with 6 hour shifts on either a Saturday or Sunday. This role is located at the St Georges Kew campus and works under the direction of a Grade 2 Physiotherapist Occupational Therapist or Rehabilitation Nurse. This position is responsible for providing high quality clinical management of patients in particular at their homes and via a telehealth model of care. This role is an interdisciplinary AHA role.
Classification for this position will be IN29 ($31.65000 per hour) plus 25% casual loading.
Duties
Implementation of treatment as directed - both face to face and via telehealth as directed
Accurate treatment monitoring and evaluation of patients programs and conditions
Maintain effective communication with all team members including reporting back to the supervising clinician regarding patient management and progress.

Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to undertake a broad range of patient and non-patient related tasks
Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant Qualification or

The service is a bed substitution model replicating Rehabilitation bed based services in the patients home. The model of care enables an earlier supported discharge for SVHM patients with conditions requiring ongoing restorative and supportive rehabilitation following illness or injry.
The primary aim of the service is to assist patients in achieving their goals of care in their own service is interdisciplinary and operates 7 days a week. The team includes a Rehabilitation Specialist Nursing Allied Health and Pharmacy staff.
This position is primarily based at the St Georges Hospital (SGH) of St Vincents Hospital Melbourne (SVHM). There may be a requirement to work from alternative sites within St Vincents Hospital Melbourne as operational demand allows.
Accountable to the Allied Health Lead and Allied Health clinicians within the team the Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) will work within a flexible interdisciplinary structure that ensures the delivery of high quality therapy services to all clients making sure that the clients needs are met. The AHA will be required to provide both clinical support and administrative assistance to the Allied Health Therapy staff and the wider program. As the service is operational 7 days per week there may be a requirement for the incumbent to participate in the clinical weekend service provision. This may include delivering care to patients within Virtual & Home Units in community settings as required.
Provide goal directed therapy to individual clients within the program under the direction of allied health professionals
Provide concise and brief clinical feedback and report any client changes to allied health professionals
Maintain stock levels and order equipment
Perform cleaning of equipment as per guidelines
Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives (includes working groups projects audits discipline related projects) per annum as directed by Program Co-ordinator
Maintain accurate statistics and submit by end of each week
Maintain the appropriate standard of medical record keeping documentation and data collection
Provide administrative assistance to clinical staff and program co-ordinator and undertake administrative tasks as required to ensure the efficient daily operation of the service
Liaise and co-ordinate with SGH Allied Health Team Leaders and their Managers the delivery of clinical services to patients of the inpatient and patients to ensure optimal delivery of clinical services
General
