About the Role
The Quality Officer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing quality assurance processes within forensic and compliance-oriented environments. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and a deep understanding of standards such as ISO 18385 particularly relating to the supply of DNA kits for law enforcement.
This role is suited for individuals with a background in food or laboratory compliance and familiarity with ISO 18385 standards particularly in forensic supply chains such as DNA kit distribution to law enforcement.
A day in the life of a Quality Officer
- Conduct internal and supplier audits; update procedures to meet ISO standards.
- Manage environmental sampling and report lab results.
- Perform trend analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor risks and continuous improvement via Event Record App.
- Prepare standard reports on quality outcomes.
- Maintain supplier documentation and support reviews.
- Oversee calibration and maintenance of equipment.
- Review and update quality procedures aligned with operational changes.
- Assess product/process risks to ensure compliance.
- Support development of new forensic products and kits.
- Record quality data using approved databases.
- Adhere to Arumas Code of Conduct and QMS-related policies.
- Assist with inventory forecasting and planning.
- Prepare documentation and coordinate external audits.
What You Need to be Successful in this Role
- Background in quality assurance or as a Quality Officer.
- Experience with standards such as ISO 18385 particularly in forensic or laboratory settings.
- Familiarity with manuals and processes related to food safety or forensic applications.
- Attention to detail and accurate event recording.
- Proficient in SharePoint and documentation management.
- Experience working in ISO8 cleanroom or classroom environments.
- Sound organisational and planning skills demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sound communication skills (verbal and written).
- Sound computer literacy particularly Microsoft Office applications and the capacity to adopt new technologies to support business improvement.
- Willingness to obtain or hold NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWSC).
- Willingness to obtain or hold Working with Children Check (paid WWCC).
