The Science Communications Assistant is a 10-hour-a-week remote/hybrid position that specializes in science storytelling and communications related to energy water and the environment. This role will report directly to the Research Communications Manager within the Boise State University Division of Research and Economic Development. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience for someone pursuing a career in science communications marketing or related fields.
This position will also support the communications needs of Idahos $24 million National Science Foundation EPSCoR RII project Idaho Community-engaged Resilience for Energy-Water Systems (I-CREWS).

Department Overview:
The Division of Research and Economic Development provides comprehensive support for faculty during all phases of research endeavors manages the universitys intellectual property portfolio facilitates relationships with industry for research and commercialization collaboration and leads outreach aimed at fostering economic development in Boise and the region. We are seeking a part-time science communications assistant to write and create NSF EPSCOR research-related content at Boise State University.
Level Scope:
Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training. Typically hold a Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary starting at$20.48 an hour and is commensurate with experience. This position is non-benefit eligible.
