This Career Coach position for the College of Business and Economics (COBE) is primarily responsible for empowering students and alumni through comprehensive career development support including one-on-one coaching professional document review mock interviews and workshop delivery. A significant portion of the role also involves program development assisting with the planning marketing and implementation of recruiting events creating engaging materials and staying updated on industry trends. This role is a 9.5-month position active while school is in session (August - May).
The purpose of the job:
(1) Empower COBE students and alumni with comprehensive career development support assisting them in self-assessment career exploration professional document creation (resume cover letter LinkedIn) job search strategies and successful workforce transitions.
(2) Support career-related events and assist with student engagement and participation.
(3) Contribute to the expansion of COBE Career Services collaborate with staff and other stakeholders; brainstorm ways to build a distinctive Career Services.
Level Scope:
Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.
