Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks accurately receiving and verifying deliveries and maintaining organized inventory and overall warehouse functionality. This role also involves overseeing student workers delivering items across campus coordinating departmental moves and operating trucks and forklifts as needed.

Warehouse Operations

Tasks include:

  • Unload trucks receive deliveries and verify accuracy of incoming items.

  • Operate forklift to optimize warehouse organization and maximize storage space.

  • Coordinate with campus departments regarding deliveries; transport items and perform installations as needed.

  • Schedule delivery appointments and maintain timely logistics.

  • Provide daily leadership to temporary staff and student workers as needed.

  • Oversee and assign tasks to student workers ensuring consistent operations and offering training as appropriate.

  • Deliver excellent customer service through daily interaction with shipping company drivers.

Surplus Property Management

Tasks include:

  • Coordinates campus requests schedules timely pickups and oversees final disposition of surplus property.

  • Stages surplus items to support efficient turnover and maximize sales potential; assists with item valuation.

  • Sorts assets and electronic waste for sale preparation and recycling initiatives.

  • Collaborates with the recycling center to ensure proper disposal of electronic waste.

Campus Logistics

Tasks include:

  • Responds to departmental move requests and coordinates required services.

  • Conducts site visits for smaller projects to assess needs and allocate resources.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to establish and manage move schedules.

  • Provides hands-on labor for moving furniture and equipment both on and off campus.

  • Leads and trains student workers involved in moving and logistics tasks.

  • Delivers small and large items to campus departments in a timely manner.

  • Transports materials of various sizes between campus locations and to in-state satellite facilities.

Other duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Assembling and installing furniture as needed.

  • Assisting team members with various projects and tasks.

  • Following safety protocols and reporting potential hazards.

  • Keeping forklift certification and first aid credentials up to date.

  • Ensuring cleanliness of vehicles office spaces and warehouse areas.

Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in providing high quality customer service.
  • Proven ability to work independently to meet deadlines and function as an effective member of a team.
  • Demonstrated effective professional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage schedules and maintain/meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations.
  • Valid drivers license or the ability to obtain one prior to starting work to drive a state-owned vehicle for travel to work locations.
  • Physically perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
