This role is part of Blue Origin Operations which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain Test Operations Safety Quality and Mission Assurance. In this role you will be part of the Operations Team in Kent WA.
This position will report to the Welding Supervisor and directly supports the Lunar team.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise leadership skills and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

(C-Shift) Friday to Sunday 5 am to 5:30 pm - Interviews will include a technical assessment
Van Horn Specific information:
Being at the heart of Blue Origin operations the West Texas Site in Van Horn TX offers eligible employees additional attractive financial incentives to supplement their competitive base earnings including a living allowance and relocation assistance. Eligibility for these additional benefits is based on the employees ability to permanently relocate to Van Horn TX or travel to Van Horn from another Blue location a minimum of 50% of the time.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and industry specifications
- Welding of carbon steel stainless steel and aluminum to blueprint and industry specifications using manual semi-automatic and/or automatic equipment
- Weld preparation including cutting blending chamfering and cleaning parts.
- Collaborate with engineering to refine welding processes and weldment designs.
- Design support and fabrication tooling required for welding and assembly
- Excellent communication skills
- Provide manufacturing feedback to design engineers
- Provide process improvement feedback to process engineers
- Safely work within an industrial environment
- Continuous improvement mentality
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8 years of direct experience
- Experience welding: carbon steel stainless steel and aluminum
- Ability to pass practical weld test in all positions to applicable welding code
- Ability to troubleshoot welds and welding equipment
- Self-sufficient with the ability to work within a team environment or independently as required
- Ability to use precision hand tools standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment
- Ability to develop and fabricate fixtures and tooling
- Ability to climb ladders stairs work in small/restricted areas and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS D1.1 D1.2 D1.6 D17.1 certifications
- Strong background in joint preparation fit-up and fabrication
- Plasma and/or oxyacetylene cutting experience
- Understanding of GD&T and Welding Symbols
- Forklift operation
- Rigging experience
- Knowledge of NDT methods
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $38.19-$53.47Other site ranges may differ
