Position Summary
This is a twelve (12) month position with the possibly of extension dependent upon availability of funds. The salary is commensurate with NIH post-doctoral rates. We are seeking a Kenan Galapagos Postdoctoral Fellow for the Center for Galapagos Studies. The postdoc will conduct research in one or more of our signature areas (Clean Oceans Biodiversity and/or Human and Ecosystem Health) with mentoring provided by the CGSs director and affiliated faculty. The post-doc will also work with the Center Director staff and leadership team to help lead CGSs research and scientific programming. Along with mentored research experience the position will provide experience with administration of a multi-disciplinary cross-campus center including collaborative grant writing and scientific communication and outreach activities. The post-doc will also receive annual travel and research funding to enable participation and collaboration in workshops conferences and fieldwork.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Relevant PhD in science social science or health field required.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Preferred candidates will have previous experience in conducting independent field research. Preferred candidates will have a strong publication and grant record and demonstrated experience in science communication teaching and/or outreach activities.
