This role is part of the New Shepard program. New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Krmn line the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.As part of a hardworking team of specialists you will be part of integrating the development design test build and operation of various spaceflight systems for New Shepard. You will ensure that we achieve our goals on time and within budget. This role will also lead efforts to increase our efficiency for the next generation of New Shepard!
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise leadership skills and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Engage in the entire life cycle of space system development. This includes conceptual design detailed design and analysis qualification testing integration and mission support.
- Represent the program in the development of internal tool and process capability for a more digitally coordinated work environment to enable more rapid development and operation
- Use your experience and knowledge of the system to support special projects including anomaly investigations major program events and planning objectives
- Collaborate with many internal customers to define dependencies and schedule needs associated with delivering space systems
- Lead team-based identification decomposition and estimation of work scope for full lifecycle hardware and software development
- Lead project schedule resources and cost present status of effort including risks variances and recovery plans to program management
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in an engineering field (mechanical or aerospace engineering preferred)
- Demonstrated technical expertise in spacecraft launch vehicle or high-performance aircraft or automotive development
- Experience and ability to work independently on rapid development programs
- 5 years of proven experience in project leadership for aerospace or equivalent-type systems including at least one multi-person project managing requirements priorities scope schedule cost and communications.
- Proficiency with standard scheduling software such as Primavera (P6) Open Plan or MS Project
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical work environments
- Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion

- Direct experience in multiple project lifecycle phases including definition design manufacturing and operations
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $164682.00-$230554.80Other site ranges may differ
