Job Description

Are you an experienced innovative and flexible trainer and facilitator with curriculum development experience who can facilitate trainings and workshops This position focuses on work in K-12 educational settings that predominantly serve youth of color with a talented team of changemakers and thought leaders in a supportive and nurturing environment. POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement the HCE Trainer will support with designing planning and facilitation of trainings and workshops on the agencys Healing Centered Engagement (HCE) approach specifically with Boston Public School (BPS) stakeholders. This position will also include periodic travel.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned trainer with content knowledge in restorative justice transformational leadership development and curriculum development experience to lead a growing body of work. The HCE Trainer must be innovative driven flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced growing and collaborative nonprofit environment. The HCE Trainer will deliver our curriculum and approach to clients engagingly allowing for individual and institutional application.

Candidates must have experience in youth development specifically education or after-school programming; community work is a plus. Our ideal candidate has experience in various settings supporting the adults who work with Black and Brown youth. This is a dynamic job for a dynamic person. It will require time spent in the community with families youth BPS educators and community leaders.

The HCE Trainer will collaborate with the greater training team for coaching and feedback as well as Project Managers and team members to achieve goals and objectives. This position is temporary and is currently scheduled to end August 31 2026.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Training and facilitation
  • Plan co-design manage and implement in-person and virtual trainings for the Boston School District.
  • Develop agendas slide decks videos and materials for in-person/virtual trainings and workshops.
  • Coordinate logistics and facilitate in-person and online meetings webinars and trainings.
  • Design innovative online participant engagement methods through Zoom and other virtual platforms and tools.
  • Foster transformative relationships for in-person and online workshops and trainings.
  • Create and hold space for healing circles and well-being work.
  • Visit spaces involving our youth including the 10 schools participating in this project/initiative and being in community in and around Boston.
  • Provide weekly 1:1 coaching support to assigned schools in Boston.

Curriculum and content development
  • Design or modify content to meet project needs.
  • Design new curriculum and content to build upon existing curricula and tools.
  • Identify and connect lessons learned and findings from programming to increase overall staff knowledge develop best practices and inform the ongoing development of new tools services and resources that advance healing and well-being for youth of color and supporting adults.
  • Co-design & launch a pilot project to meet school/staff needs.

Project management support
  • Work collaboratively with the project team to achieve outcomes and objectives.
  • Work closely with the Senior Content & Training Manager and training team to develop strategies for implementing Flourish Agendas Healing Centered Engagement strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Flourish team members clients consultants and the extended Flourish community.
  • Liaise with pilot project participants to ensure project requirements scope objectives and needs are achieved by each milestone.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS
  • Strong values and beliefs in healing justice equity and belonging principles and restorative justice/practices.
  • Knowledge of current application/practices of Trauma Informed Care in schools is preferred.
  • Seasoned trainer/facilitator with at least two years of training experience.
  • Self-directed and excited to work in a start-up-like environment.
  • Ideal candidate will have lived experience as an educator or experience with social service or juvenile detention systems.
  • Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to design engaging workshops and presentations.
  • Ability to produce and direct innovation online and in-person workshops.
  • Proficient skills in using Zoom PowerPoint and social media platforms to delivercontent. Knowledge of eCamm Miro White Board or other online platforms/integrations is a plus.
  • Experience facilitating content with providers from education juvenile justice youth development and social service institutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and develop relationships with various constituents and partners including youth teachers caregivers systems leaders and community-based organizations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills ability to think creatively and independently resolve conflicts and challenges
  • Committed to and intentionality in engaging in ones own healing personal empowerment and transformational leadership development.
  • Passion for and commitment to Flourish Agendas mission vision and philosophy.

JOB TYPE
This position is a temporary part-time position. This position is currently scheduled to end August 31 2026.

COMPENSATION
The hourly rate for this position is $39.85.

BENEFITS:
This position is 20 hours per week and is eligible for the following benefits:
  • Eligible for sick time off.
  • Eligible for access to 401(k) and company match.

WORK HOURS/SCHEDULE
The HCE Trainer works during traditional business hours Monday-Friday with shifts sometime between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST. (TBD during hiring). The position requires occasional early morning evening and weekend hours and some travel. This is a hybrid position with time spent working remotely and on-site working with BPS schools. HCE Trainers should expect to conduct and facilitate workshops on most workdays.
