Reporting to the Director of Development the Director of Alumni and Family Engagement is responsible for building lifelong relationships with School alumni and families by developing and implementing a comprehensive engagement program. The director conceives develops and orchestrates programs events and connection opportunities both on campus and around the world to engage and cultivate constituents. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction and annual operating plans to grow this important program focused on engaging and providing philanthropic education to current and former parents alumni employees students and other friends as well as play a vital role in helping St. Andrews School to achieve its philanthropic goals.

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide a strategic vision and creation of a comprehensive engagement program for alumni and families at the local regional national and international level
  • Oversee the evaluation of the engagement programs using metrics and benchmarks that increase constituent participation and philanthropic attainment
  • Lead the vision planning and execution of reunion; partner with the events coordinator regarding reunion programming marketing giving and logistics.
  • Serve as Schools first point-of-contact and actively engage alumni and families while communicating meaningful opportunities for giving service personal and professional development events and programs
  • Partner with advancement directors and school leadership to attain annual philanthropic goals
  • Serve as a source for alumni and family talent and resources for the St. Andrews community and classroom connections
  • Manage the Schools alumni directory and all official alumni social network channels
  • Collect meaningful constituent information regarding significant life events and other class notes
  • Maintain a high profile in the alumni community by meeting with alumni and attending alumni-driven events both in person and virtual. Serve as a proactive and articulate spokesperson for St. Andrews School
  • Identify cultivate and secure volunteer leadership to support a comprehensive volunteer management program with the objective of engaging alumni and families in meaningful ways
  • Oversee reunion fundraising committees the class agent program and parent volunteers
  • Provide vision leadership oversight and support of fundraising committees and class agents to plan and execute for successful annual reunions
  • Collaborate with the Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship on annual stewardship plans including reunion recognition and the Distinguished Alumni Award process
  • In partnership with the Saints Fund team manage the student philanthropy program and VI form students transition to alumni
  • Develop and manage coordinated alumni marketing and communication plans as a component of and in conjunction with comprehensive all-School and Advancement marketing and communication strategies.
  • Manage a small personal portfolio of volunteers/donors and qualify prospective major gift donors leadership and annual prospects

Minimum requirements

  • A bachelors degree is required; work with constituent relations and/or a connection with St. Andrews School is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates should possess strong relationship-building skills.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills especially the ability to listen effectively write clearly and speak to groups.
  • Proficiency in technology and software programs such as Raisers Edge is essential.
  • Familiarity with annual giving endowment and capital campaigns preferred.
  • The ideal candidate also needs to manage multiple priorities effectively have strong organizational and time management abilities and possess a deep appreciation for education and a commitment to the mission of St. Andrews School.

Physical Demands:

  • Business travel
  • Some sedentary work on a computer is performed in an office setting
  • Intermittent physical activity including standing kneeling walking bending reaching and lifting to 25 lbs.
  • Environment subject to frequent interruptions varying and unpredictable situations; some pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
