A Day in the Life

Development and verification of the programmable logic elements of medical capital equipment used in surgery. Hardware interfaces such as ADC DAC memory DSP algorithms implemented in PL as appropriate.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Designs develops tests documents operates and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Applies the appropriate standards processes procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and wide range of products.
• Interfaces with customers suppliers application users and other technical and support personnel.

TECHNICAL SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM:An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies from design to implementation - while adhering to policies using specialized knowledge and skills.

Required Knowledge and Experience:Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$111200.00 - $166800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
