The Role
We are currently seeking a Manager Roads & HighwaysPerth to provide leadership and operational direction to the activities of our Roads & Highways business giving consideration to the national region and global strategies.
This position ensures the operational and technical excellence and performance of the Roads & Highways sector with the effect of growing the SMEC Infrastructure function through optimal people commercial business development client relationship management and project performance. Key responsibilities include:
- Effective planning and management of the performance of the local team in line with the Business Line and Regional plans in support of SMECs vision and values
- Undertake client relationship management and business development activities in line with the Market Sector and State plans
- Provide project governance and project management in the local office to achieve reliable project performance in terms of sophistication timeliness and quality
- Provide leadership and development opportunities to the employees located in the local office to ensure cohesion optimal performance resourcing retention and professional development
The incumbent will role model SMEC values ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.
About You
The successful candidate will typically have 15 years industry experience recognised as an existing or emerging leader in the transport infrastructure design market and would have undertaken Management and/or lead roles in similar engineering consulting organisations demonstrating the ability to consistently:
- Manage multi-disciplinary projects successfully to budget and client specifications
- Build trusting and productive client relationships
- Produce tender/proposal documents of an excellent standard and in a timely manner
- Manage a team effectively for performance and cohesion
