Job Description
This is a regional full-time (W-2) CDL A driving position running out of Chicago IL.
Pay scale Based on Verified Experience
0-59 Months $0.80
60-71 Months $0.82
72-83 Months $0.84
84 months $0.86
Unload Pay $325
Backhaul $30
New hires assigned to tractors AFTER completing 1 week ride along time with current driver at $150 per day.
Drivers WILL seat a truck with a current FD Driver.

How hard is the driver unload It is a challenging hard job but is very financially rewarding and great exercise it can take some time to acclimate to the unload. We will support you thought the whole process!

When is my home time and 34 hour reset We get you home weekly
What shift will I work Deliveries start in the early AM you will be driving to your first stop the day before and taking a 10 hour break. Deliveries are made Mon-Friday Monday deliveries pickup Sunday.
When can I take a Vacation After 1 year you will get a week of vacation and after 2 years you can take 2 weeks of vacation. And after 7 years 3 weeks. This totals up to 4 weeks at 10 years!

If you live within our hiring area you could be the perfect dedicated driver to add to our Family Dollar team! Some of the best parts of being a dedicated driver are getting home weekly for a 34 hour reset and driving an average of 1100 miles per week.. In addition to mileage pay you ll earn $325 per load inclusive for the unload at all stops.
As part of the Family Dollar dedicated team you ll run dry hand unload freight to various Family Dollar locations in IN MI IL OH all within 500 miles of the Ashley IN distribution center. 100% of freight will be live unloaded at Family Dollar stores.
To give you the best possible driving experience the distribution center includes on-site staff including safety support .
Runs will include nights weekends and holidays that fall within your workweek.
Routes also typically require 3-5 stops per unload and potentially a 34-hour break on the road each week.
But being a dedicated driver is no easy task. So the way we see it you deserve vacation time more than anyone. That s why after a year on the account you can take a week of paid vacation. After 2 years you can take 2 weeks of vacation. And after 7 years 3 weeks and 4 weeks of vacation after 10 years.
If you choose to join the team you ll go through a short orientation to help get you started on the right foot. And you ll get paid to do it. You ll receive 1 week of ride-along training ( a minimum of 3 loads) at $150 per day.
